Brevard Area Pisgah is home to a true backcountry experience and provides an incredible diversity of mountain biking. Davidson River and Fish Hatchery are popular starting points. Butter Gap’s recent complete trail rework has made it a popular destination.
Trail Work Update: Black Mountain Trail
We appreciate the community input on our work on Black Mountain Trail! With dryer conditions, we are resuming maintenance on the Lower Black Mountain corridor. The trail has already been brushed back to improve visibility and safety and over 100 drainage structures have been assessed, with many requiring repair to address erosion and standing water. We will perform a mix of machine and hand work to restore drainage while preserving trail character. Progress updates and volunteer opportunities will be shared via the Pisgah Area SORBA website, social media, and newsletter.
