PAS – Brevard -Trail Work Day – 11/13/2016 – 9:00AM-1:00PM __________________________________________________
Location to sign in for trail work:
Paved parking lot next to the entrance to the FS work center off 276.
Information about trail work day:
We will plan to work mainly on cleaning and reshaping drains and blasting leaves on the ‘new’
lower Black Mtn trail. This tread is now 2.5 years old and we need to stay ahead of the drains filling up and becoming impossible to open up by hand. Will not worry about doing the whole section. If it takes a couple sessions to do this, then so be it. Hope to see folks out. Thanks
If you plan to attend please e-mail.
All volunteers are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with USFS guidelines.
Pisgah Area SORBA has hard-hats, glasses and gloves for your use, though we suggest you bring your own. You can borrow them for the day or purchase on-site for future use. Due to safety regulations, bicycle helmets are not acceptable.
Long pants and non-slip footwear are also required. We suggest you also plan on bringing a day pack with adequate food, water and weather gear (rain shell, etc.) Crew Leaders reserve the right to assess each volunteer’s PPE to ensure compliance with land manager agreements.
Hope to see you turning dirt at our next trail work day.
