This tree was very solid for looking so dead. It took almost a whole tank of gas to clear this one.

Today Stephen J and Julie W continued with corridor clearing on the Lower Trace Ridge reroute. There was a plethora of downed trees on today’s stretch of trail. There must have been some kind of crazy wind in the past as most of the trees were uprooted. When these trees fell into rhodo patches it made for quite a mess. However, 3 tanks of gas later we had finished making a first pass along the entire trail. There are some areas that could use some tweaking, but for the most part the big stuff is gone. It was a great day to be in the woods, although a bit hot by the time we finished. The steady progress continues.
