Adopt-A-Highway August 26th, 2012 at 3:00 PM
Not just any highway, we have adopted Wesley Branch Road going into Bent Creek Experimental Forest.
This 2-mile stretch is from Brevard Rd./191 all the way to the boundaries of Bent Creek Forest. Our sign is already up which is great exposure for PAS. This is a community involvement effort and can help beautify the entrance corridor to one of the most popular trailheads in Pisgah. We will volunteer on litter pickup 4 times per year, for 4 years, on this stretch of important road. Wesley Branch Road is fairly clean already as it’s mostly on private properties, so the work will be minimal. NC DOT provides all of the appropriate safety items and trashbags prior to each workday.
Volunteers needed.
Pickup days will consist of:
– About an hour’s work of picking up trash/debris and putting them in trashbags that will then be picked up by DOT workers.
The Pickup day schedule for 2011:
When: August 26th 3:00 PM
Where: Corner of Bent Creek Ranch Road and Wesley Branch Road
